Tragedy shows Need for the Second Amendment

The worst possible tragedy occurred in Connecticut today. A gunman killed 20 children and 6 adults in an elementary school, after killing his own mother in her bed, earlier this morning. This horrific event is unimaginable. My heart cries out for these families. Those sweet children… less than two weeks before Christmas.

It is even more horrifying when I hear people trying to politicize this with an agenda for Gun Control. These left-wing extremists don’t have a clue what they are doing to these families with this propaganda. They are not concerned with the victims. They are USING these poor children for their own advantage.

Instead of enjoying the holidays and watching the excitement in those young eyes as they prepare for Christmas Eve and Santa’s visit, these broken families must plan funerals. Do you really think they are ready to discuss gun control? Do you think it will help them to cope by hearing callous Piers Morgan spout off his personal agenda? Is it going to comfort them by knowing Leonard Nimoy said their children will not Live Long & Prosper? How about David Frum making jokes at their children’s expense? Do you think these families appreciated that?

How about the Media interviewing the children from Sandy Hook School? Is that really showing concern for the children, or just for their ratings?

If any of these left wing zealots have been in the position of dealing with a tragedy such as this, I want them to jump up and explain how this behavior helped them. Yes, I know from where I speak. My parents were murdered ten years ago. They were both shot while in their home, targeted by a killer. Gun control laws would not have changed that scenario either. They would still have died.

This was a gun-free zone. Guns were not allowed on the premises. Did this stop the gunman? Of course not. Laws do not stop anyone who is determined to break them. If guns are outlawed, only criminals will have them.

I want these Gun Control Freaks to check their facts. In areas where there is higher gun ownership, there is less crime. This is true. That is why I live in an area that has high gun ownership. I live in an area where hunting is not a sport, but a way of life. There is crime here, but very little. Children are actually taught gun safety as young as 9 years old, with parental permission. We allow people to protect their homes, families and livestock. We expect people to be carrying firearms, so we don’t provoke each other. It is basic common sense.

If Mayor Bloomberg wants to yell about Gun Control, let him do so without his armed defense force protecting him. And if Barack Obama wants to talk to me, he is welcome to come up here without the Secret Service. That would make the conversation a lot more honest.
